Every day trip is private, with an English-speaking guide, a comfortable 4WD Land Cruiser and hotel pickup and drop-off in Moshi or Arusha. They are perfect before or after a Kilimanjaro climb or a longer safari, for families, and for travellers with limited time.

Where do the day trips start and finish?

Every day trip starts and ends at your hotel in Moshi or Arusha, with private hotel pickup and drop-off included.

How long is a typical day trip?

Most trips run from an early-morning pickup to a late-afternoon or early-evening return. Ngorongoro and Mandara Hut are the longest, with a pickup around 5:30–6:00 AM; Arusha National Park, Rau Forest and Lake Chala are the most relaxed.

Are day trips private or shared?

All our day trips are private, with your own vehicle and guide, so the pace and timing can be adjusted to your group.

Is lunch included?

Yes. A picnic lunch or a local meal is included on every day trip, along with bottled drinking water.

Can I do a day trip the day after I arrive or before my flight?

Yes — they suit arrival and departure days as well as rest days around a climb or safari. Tell us your flight times and we will plan around them.

Can I see the Big Five in one day?

The Ngorongoro Crater offers the best chance of seeing the Big Five in a single day. Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.

Are day trips suitable for children?

Yes, most are. Child safety seats are available for $10 per seat, and we can adjust the pace for families.
