Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge is a luxurious retreat nestled on the edge of the Ngorongoro Forest Reserve, overlooking a scenic coffee plantation and lush greenery. Located between the towns of Karatu and Rhotia, the lodge offers an ideal base for exploring iconic destinations such as the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and Tarangire National Park. With its seamless blend of modern comfort and natural charm, the lodge provides a quiet and elegant sanctuary for travelers.

Set within 100 acres of coffee estate, Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge features 26 beautifully appointed cottages, including family units. Each cottage is equipped with handcrafted furniture, cozy fireplaces, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Guests can enjoy sweeping views of the plantation and forest from private verandas, while communal spaces such as the lounge, bar, and swimming pool offer the perfect spots to unwind after a day on safari.

Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge is conveniently situated along the main safari route in Tanzania’s northern circuit, between the villages of Rhotia and Karatu. It is approximately a 2.5-hour drive from Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport and just a short distance from the Ngorongoro Crater rim and Lake Manyara National Park.

The lodge offers 26 spacious and private cottages, including:

Standard Cottages – Each features king and queen-size beds with mosquito nets, a sitting area, writing desk, private veranda, indoor and outdoor showers, slipper bathtub, and a fireplace.
Family Suites – Three interconnected cottages with two bedrooms and two en-suite bathrooms, ideal for families or groups traveling together.

Each unit is surrounded by the lush coffee estate and forest views, offering a unique mix of comfort, privacy, and connection with nature.

Dining

Dining at Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge is a full-board experience, with meals served in a cozy dining hall or out on the veranda. The menu includes a combination of international favorites and locally inspired dishes, all made with fresh ingredients. Vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary needs are happily accommodated. Guests can also enjoy afternoon tea, light bites, and refreshing beverages at the bar or by the pool.
